Fantastic family

Remeber the fundraiser I participated in last November? This is the wonderful family that one the auction for a session with me. It was so much fun to work with them. They have fantastic smile and great personalities! Did I mention they also photograph beautifully?

I love this one! What is better than grandparents and their grandbabies? So much love and adoration!

These kids are so adorable and so very cute! I made a few new friends. It is my favorite part of this job. I love it!

Remember that beautiful maternity session that I had? I had the privilege a few weeks later to meet the beautiful new addition to their family- a gorgeous baby girl. I love newborns. They are adorable, small, and so precious. And this one was all of those things and then more.

Since I do not photograph weddings I do not have many engagement sessions. So I was so excited to be given the opportunity to work with this wonderful engaged couple. She is a dentist at the office we go to and my whole family just loves her. The kids were very excited that I was working with her and her fiance. The Paradise Valley Country Club was the perfect location for such a beautiful couple.

I have been working with this beautiful family for years. I love that the kids get so excited to come see me. They are having another addition to their family and I had the privilege of documenting this exciting stage. So cute, so fun!

What a fun way to end a session! These tow love each other very much and it was so evident in their interactions with each other. What a joy! The new baby will be greatly loved.

Cold and windy fun!

This family is such pure fun! I have known them since this summer and have loved it. They have such great sense of humor and adventure and handled a very unusual cold (high in the low 40s) and very windy Phoenix December day. I personally am just impressed I got portraits without hair in the face. Oh did I mention how cute they all are too?

I thought the back light images were perfect for a nice warm vintage look.

Thanks guys for being such troopers!

I have worked with this adorable family since their oldest was tiny. They are so much fun. We had a great time and the kids were awesome- I love this smile!

Going BIG!

Don't be afraid to go big with yoru family portraits. Your family is beautiful and what better artwork to display in your home than beautiful portraits of those you hold dear. We finally got the last of our family portraits hung and I wanted to share them with you. I went big and I LOVE it!!!

The middle portrait is 2 ft by 3 ft. Each side is 16 in x 20in then a 12in x 18 in and at the ends are 11in x14in

This is above my couch. Each print is 12 x 18.

This is in my front entryway. This portrait is 20 x 24 in. I love it!

My family

My family had our family portraits taken back in October. I hired out family portraits but I still took all the images of my kids and the girls with their dad. I finally finished the kids individual portraits less than two weeks before Christmas. That is what happens when you wait to be caught up on work first, lol!!! The individual ones of the girls were done in October at Sahuaro Ranch Park and the rest were taken in December at DC Ranch Market. I may be a bit biased but I sure think they are cute kids!

We had a ton of fun too. I love my wild and crazy kids!!!

Family who started it all

I had the privilege of working with this family. They have a great deal to do with where I am today. Their support, encouragement and faith have meant the world to me and to my business. Now I am not sure if the kids thought it was such a privilege because the session was at 6:45 am and it took 30 minutes to get there! They were fantastic troopers though and we came away with fabulous portraits!!

Dave and Cyndi Eisner of Cold Stone Creamery have so generously offered to have a fundraiser at their store at 8215 W Bell Rd. on Monday, November 15th from 5pm to 9pm.

This can be a wonderful source that evening for Family Home Outing Evening treats! Cold Stone Creamery (this store only) will be offering 50% of the proceeds to Jenny!

Dave and Cyndi have done some wonderful fundraisers in the past for other friends with various health battles. They have some great ideas to streamline the process to avoid the long wait in line. They will be offering 3 creations (their most popular... of course) already mixed and ready to scoop in 2 sizes: small (which isn't really small at all) $5.50, and medium (which is more like a small mountain) for $6.00. They would prefer that we bring cash that night, but can accommodate if you need to purchase by credit card. There will, of course, be all your favorite flavors available that evening, but they will have premixed:

Courage and beauty

My friend Jenny is battling breast cancer for the second time. She is an amazing woman who is facing it with poise, honor, power and grace. And she has an amazing family with two amazing children who are fantastic friends to my children and we are so blessed to have them in our lives. I had the honor last weekend of taking their family portraits. They dressed perfectly and are so easy to work with and pose that I went a little crazy and had a blast. Be sure to check out her fight here to learn more about her courageous battle and the fundraisers that are coming up- including the silent auction on the 20th of November. There will be so many great things to bid on including a session with me. Love them!!!!

one year adorableness

Talk about adorable!!! It took this cutie a few minutes to warm up but we had a great time. It is such a fun location and such a fun family. One year sessions are always bittersweet. It is so much fun to see how they have grown and to celebrate this milestone with them but it is also sad because I know I won't be seeing them quite as often. And I have the best clients! This location is the site of my mini holiday sessions. Exact details tomorrow!!! I can't wait.

Beatiful newborn sweetness overload

So I went a little crazy with the picture share- but I can't help myself. Isn't she the most beautiful thing? She slept beautifully for me and I was able to try so many different things. It was such a joy to work with her. And it was such a joy to spend a morning with my friend whom I do not see nearly enough! I will definitely remedy that!

I love tiny baby feet. So adorable!!!!

It took hours and putting her in her car seat to get her awake enough to have an eyes open shot. She was my best sleeper ever!

Sneek peek- newborn sweetness

As a baby shower gift to a really good friend of mine I gave her a newborn session. Whenever I am doing a free session I always do something for me and use the opportunity to try something new. I have had this shot pictured in my head forever and finally had a chance to try it out. This adorable little girl was my BEST sleeper ever! She pretty much let me do whatever I wanted. Usually sessions with newborns go hours trying to get them to go to sleep. This one went long for two reasons, one I was trying so many new things because she was so cooperative and two we kept waiting for her to wake up so that we could get awake shots! I took plently of more typical shots also which I will share soon. I just started editing and this was the first one I finished. I couldn't wait to share!

The Litttle House on 5th East

This is a personal project I have been working on for a long time now. It was interesting working on it. I had to stop several times because it was just to hard. But then once I got really going I couldn't wait to see the finished project. (it helped that my supplier was having a sale to motivate me to work through the emotions and finish)

I often felt more at home at my grandparents house than anywhere else in the world. I wanted to be able to remember the house long after I was able to visit it. Other than the piece by Brad Caldwell it has no words. I debated long and hard on that but I wanted those who look at it to be able to associate it with their own memories. I would like someday to put together a companion piece with memories. And anyways the book would be too long and I wouldn't be able to afford to print it if I included all my memories. There are just to many. But I will record them all soon so that I don't forget.

While I have not been taking on new assignments over the summer I have been working with baby plan clients. Here are my baby plan clients I have worked with the last few months and one I did as a gift for a friend. (I needed practice with a grown woman and her daughter was celebrating her baptism. )

I can't believe she is a year already! Time flies.

Isn't my friend beautiful? She was such a good trooper as I tried out some different techniques on her!

This is her cute daughter who was baptised this month. My daughters babysit her and her siblings a lot and love them so much. It was fun to do this gift for her.

This is my beautiful oldest. She is officially done with elementary school. She will be a freshman in high school in the fall. And she grows more and more beautiful each day. Wasn't she just my little girl who would climb into bed with Mike and I, put her chubby arms around our necks, squeeze and say "my family''? Time flies. I love her and am so grateful for her. And so proud. This is from our quick five minute session before we left for promotion.
